Tourism trends for 2022
PhD Eran Ketter
COVID-19 is an unprecedented event in modern tourism. Nevertheless, it is only a single event in a serious of fast-occurring changes that constantly re-shape global tourism. How will COVID-19 affect tourism demand and tourism destinations?
What are the recent changes in travelers’ behavior, source markets, marketing strategies, digital platforms, and preference for tourism and hospitality experiences? Which actions should we take today to proactively meet the challenges and opportunities of tomorrow? Using academic research tools, the latest statistics and a close look-out on the tourism industry, Eran Ketter (PhD) presents a clear, engaging and inspiring view on global tourism trends. The tourism trends keynote is focused on the practical implications for business development, management and marketing, in a business arena where the cheese doesn't stop moving.

Stop disturbing! How to create content people want to pay attention to.
Piotr Bucki
I hate it when marketing people waste my time. Filling it with obvious and cliché content deprived of any creativity. I hate it when marketing people waste my time. Filling it with obvious and cliché content deprived of any creativity.
I also hate it when instead of attracting my attention they bulldoze in interrupting me with displays, banners, facebook ads and digital crap with a capital C. I'm not alone. According to Edelman Brand Report most consumers feel this way. 56% of consumers thint „Marketers spend too much time looking for ways to force me to pay attention to their messages and not enough time thinking of ways to make me want to pay attention”. So it's high time to stop forcing our marketing upon customers and look for ways to engage them. And that is what I want to do - teach you how to engage not how to enforce. Are you with me?

Destination marketing for business tourism in a recovering world
Rob Davidson
This presentation will offer advice on how cities can market themselves to successfully attract meetings and conferences in the post-pandemic world.
It will focus on the changing preferences of participants and the changing requirements of meeting planners and conference organisers, and will suggest how destination marketing organisations can best position and brand their cities to make them attractive to these stakeholders. The entire range of destination marketing tools and techniques will be covered, with an emphasis on how the use of these tools and techniques has evolved in the past 1.5 years, as destination marketing for business tourism has adapted to the new situation.

Workshop - Gearing up for restarting travel
PhD Eran Ketter
No places available. As vaccine rollout progresses, tourism businesses are required to gear up towards managing experiences, marketing and business development in the post-COVID19 era.
In this new reality - Which market segments will be the most active? How tourism behavior will change? And, which value proposition should we develop and promote? The workshop will provide a hands-on understanding on the most critical tourism trends for 2022 and their practical implications for speedy bounce-back of tourism businesses.

Modern marketing for modern travelers
Mara Buta
Online presentation. A new era of travel is rapidly emerging - one where competition for visitors’ hearts, minds and wallets is intensifying and the way people consume travel is changing. To adapt to this new environment, travel brands and tourism organizations must re-write the marketing playbook built on 3 strategies:
  • Core: We’re entering an era where soul and values will be prized by visitors, so DMOs must take a deep look inside to (re)define their core and stand for something meaningful beyond just transactions.
  • Community: To nurture retention and loyalty, DMOs must be visitor-centric, create an open dialogue with their audience and build valuable customer communities.
  • Content: To drive growth, DMOs must create authentic digital and social-first content that holds value to visitors’ time and enriches their lives.
In this session we will look at some of the major shifts in marketing over the last year and a half and consider actionable strategies for how DMOs can reinvent the marketing playbook around core, community and content to drive meaningful sustained growth in the new era of travel.

Why digitalisation matters?
Nicholas Hall
As an industry, we are all challenged right now. The unprecedented events of 2020 and 2021 have tested even the most resilient of businesses, so looking forward may seem difficult at times.
In this session, that is exactly what we are going to do, learning why we should be putting the needs of our customers at the centre of our strategy. Learn about some of the major shifts that took place through the pandemic and consider how to respond to them strategically as a customer driven business. Nick will share a range of principles in building or adapting business with human centred design, making your customers the driving force behind your business growth and considering their needs at every step of the customer journey - to ultimately gain that competitive edge.

Workshop - Communicate & Create Value
Piotr Bucki
No places available. Generic and redundant. Not memorable and deprived of emotion. That's exactly what you DO NOT want your communication to be. During the workshop I'll teach you a unique method based on approach, mindset and tools of great communication.
You'll use it to bring value to the table, evoke emotions in website visitors and build a brand that is too good to be ignored. The price of creating content and communication that is bad is far more than not creating communication at all. So if you want to do it right, do it with my methods. Prepare for intense hours filled with hands on approach and mind bending.

Łukasz Wysocki
Tomasz Koralewski
Krzysztof Raganowicz
At the beginning there was … crisis. Our guests: Łukasz Wysocki, Tomasz Koralewski and Krzysztof Raganowicz will tell us, how to use even really bad situations in difficult times and turn them into an exemplary cooperation, a well-functioning product and we’ll also learn how to reach the effect of synergy.
Our speakers will show us how a local campaign led to the creation of a nationwide product. A product that found recognition also beyond Polish borders.

The #CityWillWait initiative is a response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Its originator was the Gdansk Tourism Organisation, which started the hashtag #GdanskWillWait. The purpose of the original initiative was to maintain interest in travel during the first lockdown in 2020, and to support the local tourist industry. The widespread media coverage of the project quickly resulted in other cities across Poland joining as well – so now a total of 13 cities work together under the influential hashtag, supporting each other through these difficult times.

Four Polish cities – Gdansk, Gizycko, Opole and Lublin – have joined forces and invited visitors to enjoy their greatest attractions. TripPass is a brand-new, innovative tourist card offering free entry and discount packages valid for several dozen attractions in the participating cities.

Tel Aviv during COVID-19 – new visitors, new ideas
Yael Froman-Ideses
These are challenging times for all of us in Tel Aviv, a city that is normally 85% based on incoming tourism. Luckily, challenges bring along opportunities – and we decided to turn the lemons into alemaonade. Join me in a journey that started with characterizing Tel Aviv's new visitors, and continued with new ideas to attract them to the city.

Covid-19 has dealt a blow to the global tourism industry, which came to a near standstill in 2020. Though we already know that the road to recovery is not straightforward, professionals and destination stakeholders have a unique opportunity to rethink the role of tourism and design solutions that will help us rebuild a better, healthier and more resilient industry. The keynote will set out the basics of Regenerative Tourism. A thorough review of theoretical concepts and practical implications will guide a discussion about a new model for tourism; a model that genuinely works to restore life and livelihoods through regeneration, rather than rumbling onwards in a way that does ‘less bad’.

Smart Tourism Management
Doug Lansky
Online presentation. If we want to make tourism "smart" we need to get our goals in order. Simply having more tourists than last year is not a recipe for long-term success.
Instead, we need to figure out how to make tourism more sustainable, profitable and a better fit with the local way of life. That's a combination of policy and a tech solution that can make it happen. Doug Lansky will provide a glimpse of what this successful vision can look like.
