European Solidarity Centre - conference

The European Solidarity Centre is a state-of-the-art cultural institution and an open city space in which people, values and ideas come together. ECS, opened in August 2014, is still a new building on the map of Gdańsk. It was built in the historic space of the Gdańsk Shipyard, where Solidarność was born in August 1980, to commemorate the Polish peaceful revolution which changed the face of entire Central and Eastern Europe. The ECS is today an icon of Gdańsk. The building's heart is a permanent exhibition to commemorate the Solidarity revolution and the downfall of communism in Europe; other features include an education centre, an R&D centre, archive, library and multimedia collection.

The European Solidarity Center is a cultural institution accessible to everyone, including people with disabilities.
